Food industry:
Cold-pressed rapeseed oil is a clean natural product of the highest quality produced without use of any chemical substances (colouring, dissolving agents, preservatives) or high temperatures during pressing. Thanks to this careful way of processing the substances contained in it are not destroyed and it is rich in essential unsaturated fatty acids
Omega 6 and Omega 3 and vitamins.
Saturated fatty acids (SAFA):
- Palmitic acid: 1,5 - 6 %
- Stearic acid: 0,8 - 2,5 %
Mono unsaturated fatty acids (MUFA):
- Oleic acid (called also Omega 9): 50 - 66 %
Poly-unsaturated fatty acids (PUFA):
- Linoleic acid (called also Omega 6): 18 - 24 %
- α linolenic acid (called also Omega 3): 6 - 14 %
The benefit of the rapeseed oil lies in the low rate of unhealthy saturated fatty acids and a very high rate of beneficial poly-unsaturated fatty acids. Unsaturated fatty acids have positive influence on reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases and especially thanks to its influence on cholesterol level. The composition of crude rapeseed oil meets the specifications of the following nutritive statements concerning the high rate of unsaturated fatty acids (more than 70%) and also the high rate of Omega 3 PUFA (more than 8 g in 100 g of α linolenic acid and more than 18 g in 100 g of linoleic acid):
- “Linoleic acid helps to keep a normal cholesterol level in blood.”
- “α linolenic acid helps to keep a normal cholesterol level in blood.”
- “Replacement of saturated fats with unsaturated fats in food helps to keep a normal cholesterol level in blood.” (EU Regulation No. 432/2012)
Also, they prevent creation of atheroslecrotic plates in vessels and reduce the risk of thrombosis that worsens vessel patency. They have an anti-inflammatory effect and improve fat reduction. A sufficient intake of unsaturated fatty acids is according to the recent researches important also for the development of children and the state of health of pregnant women, it has influence on the quality of skin and it is reflected substantially in the immunity or in occurrence of allergic diseases. Besides the favourable composition of fatty acids, crude rapeseed oil contains other biologically active substances especially plant sterols and tocopherols that are preserved thanks to the careful way of pressing concerning the temperature. That is why rapeseed oil is one of the most favourable plant oils concerning nutrition. A well-filtered oil is distinctive in gold-yellow colour, light nutty taste and it smells of the raw material.
